    Terms of Service

    Version 2026-08-19

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Sonic Blue, the music community portal operated by DMV Music Alliance ("DMVMA", "we", "us"). By creating an account, listing a show, buying a ticket, or connecting a payout account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

    1. Accounts

    • You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account, and 18 or older to sell tickets or receive payouts.
    • You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile, listings, and event information.
    • You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
    • We may suspend or remove accounts, listings, or content that violate these Terms or our community standards.

    2. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you post — bios, photos, posters, audio, video, and messages. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and promote that content within Sonic Blue and in DMVMA promotion of the events and artists in it. You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload, including images and recordings of other people.

    3. Community conduct

    • No harassment, hate speech, threats, spam, or impersonation.
    • No scraping, bulk extraction, or resale of directory data.
    • Industry notes and internal booking notes are confidential and for professional use only — do not republish them.
    • Report violations with the report tool; our moderators review every report.

Full rules and enforcement steps are in our Community Standards, which are part of these Terms.

    4. Directory listings, claiming, and accuracy

    • We started listings; we don't maintain them. To give the community a usable directory from day one, DMVMA created unclaimed listings for artists, venues, and businesses using publicly available information. These are starting points only.
    • Claiming is on you. It is the responsibility of each artist, venue, service provider, or business to claim their listing, verify it, correct anything wrong, and keep it current. DMVMA does not edit, verify, monitor, or update listings on your behalf, and has no obligation to do so.
    • Accuracy is the listing owner's responsibility. Once claimed, the claimant is responsible for all information on the listing, including contact details, rates, availability, and event data. Unclaimed listings may contain outdated or incomplete information.
    • No endorsement or verification. A listing's presence in the directory is not an endorsement, a verification of credentials or licensing, or a guarantee of quality, availability, or business status.
    • Corrections and removal. Anyone can flag an inaccurate listing with the report tool, and a subject can request removal of their unclaimed listing through the contact page. We review those requests but are not responsible for information we did not create.
    • Disputed claims. We may ask for proof of ownership or authorization before approving a claim, and may reverse a claim that turns out to be unauthorized.

    5. Seller and payout terms

This section applies to anyone who connects a payout account or sells tickets through Sonic Blue ("Seller"). It applies in addition to the rest of these Terms.

    • You are the seller of record. DMVMA is a technology platform that lists your event and facilitates payment. You are responsible for delivering the event, honoring tickets, and handling attendee issues.
    • Payment processing. Payments and payouts are processed by Stripe. Connecting a payout account means you also accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement and Stripe Services Agreement. Stripe holds and moves the funds; DMVMA never takes custody of your money.
    • We never store your financial details. Bank account, debit card, and card numbers are entered directly with Stripe on Stripe-hosted pages and are never stored on our systems. For a payout account we keep only a connected account reference ID and its status flags (charges enabled, payouts enabled, details submitted, country); for purchases we keep only order amount, quantity, and payment status.
    • Platform fees. On every financial transaction processed through the portal — tickets, service bookings, and any other paid transaction — a 5.0% fee to DMV Music Alliance is added on top of your base price and paid by the buyer. Your full base price transfers to your connected account. Where a booking agent is attached to a deal, 15% of your base price is routed to that agent.
    • Processing fees. Card processing fees are charged by Stripe on the total charged (base price plus the 5% platform fee) and are deducted from the transaction.
    • Payout timing. Payouts follow the schedule of your connected account, typically two business days after settlement. Payouts cannot be released until identity and bank verification are complete.
    • Taxes. You are solely responsible for your own income, sales, and admissions taxes. Tax forms (such as a 1099-K where applicable) are issued by the payment processor based on the details you submit during onboarding.
    • Chargebacks and disputes. Chargebacks, disputes, and dispute fees on your sales are your responsibility and may be deducted from current or future payouts. Platform splits already paid may be recovered against those balances.
    • Prohibited sales. No sales for events you do not control, no fraudulent or misrepresented events, and nothing prohibited by the payment processor's restricted business list.

    6. Tickets, refunds, and cancellations

    • All ticket sales are final unless the event is cancelled, rescheduled, or the Seller offers a refund.
    • If an event is cancelled, the Seller must refund the ticket face value. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
    • If an event is rescheduled, buyers may request a refund up to 14 days after the new date is announced.
    • Platform fees are returned proportionally to the buyer on refunds; processing fees may not be recoverable.
    • Buyers should contact the Seller first through the portal; contact us if a Seller does not respond within 7 days.

    7. Bookings, offers, and deals

Offers, holds, and deal terms exchanged through the booking workspace are agreements between the parties involved. DMVMA is not a party to those agreements, does not guarantee performance, and is not responsible for unpaid guarantees or cancelled bookings.

    8. Disclaimers and liability

Sonic Blue is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DMVMA's total liability arising from your use of the portal is limited to the greater of $100 or the platform fees we collected from you in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

    9. Termination

You may close your account at any time from account settings. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms. Pending ticket obligations, refunds, and chargeback liability survive termination.

    10. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms; material changes are announced in the portal and require re-acceptance before you keep selling. Questions? Use the contact page or email tech@dmvmusicalliance.org.
