    Connect Alexa or Google Home

Speak to your smart speaker and it reaches the portal: add a note or to-do, send in an event for approval, or hear what's coming up around the DMV. Prefer to talk to the site itself? Use the press-to-talk assistant.

    What you can say

    • “Call the Black Cat about the June date” — lands as a note in your list.
    • “Add an event: open mic at Songbyrd, Thursday at 8” — queued as a draft event for our team to approve.
    • “What's on tonight?” — reads back the next few shows on the calendar.

Set it up (Alexa, Google Home or your phone)

    1. Sign in to IFTTT (or Zapier) and start a new automation.
    2. For Alexa, pick Amazon Alexa → “Say a phrase with a text ingredient”. For Google Home, pick Google Assistant → “Say a phrase with a text ingredient”. On iPhone you can use Shortcuts → “Get contents of URL” instead.
    3. Use a phrase like “tell Sonic Blue $”.
    4. For the action, choose Webhooks → “Make a web request”.
    5. Paste your private link above into the URL box.
    6. Set the method to POST and the content type to application/json.
    7. For the body, use {"text":"{{TextField}}"} (in Zapier, map the spoken words to a field named text).
    8. Save it, then try your phrase out loud.
